TARGETED AREA GUIDELINES 

The Division must set aside a portion of its First Time Homebuyer Program for certain neighborhoods designated by the federal government as Targeted Areas.  A Targeted Area is a census tract in which 70% or more of the families have incomes that are 80% or less of the statewide median income, or an area of chronic economic distress.

  There are three advantages to buying a home in a Targeted Area:

1)      There are no restrictions on former home ownership;

2)      Higher Maximum Income Limits are accepted; and

3)      Higher Maximum Purchase Price Limits are accepted.

 The following areas have been designated as Targeted Areas and Targeted Area maps are available for Clark and Washoe counties:
